UNBA was established pursuant to the Law of Ukraine "On the Bar and Practice of Law", the norms of which regulate the impossibility for the organization to conduct profitable commercial or economic activities. The lawyers of Ukraine, united under the aegis of the UNBA on the basis of their professional affiliation, ensure and implement various tasks of the advocacy for self-government to protect the rights and interests of the members of the association, to strengthen and develop the institution of the legal profession in the world community. This organization is not a legal entity, and realizes its rights through organizational forms of advocacy for self-government.
